About Carpool
Carpool is a platform that matches drivers with spare seats to passengers travelling the same route in the Philippines. The idea is simple: fewer cars on the road, and shared costs instead of separate trips.
Where it stands
Carpool is an early version, and it is real. Accounts, rides, bookings and messages all work: when you book a seat, the driver sees your request and the seat count changes for everyone looking at that ride. There are no payments through the site, no identity verification, and no reviews or ratings yet.
What is in scope
Private cars, SUVs or MPVs, and private passenger vans, for trips within the Philippines. We are not a bus operator, we do not sell bus tickets, and we do not book accommodation.
Shared costs, not fares
The contribution per seat is a share of actual costs such as fuel and tolls. It is agreed between you and paid directly to the driver — Carpool does not collect it and charges no fee. It is not a fare and this is not a commercial transport service. Charging more than the cost of the trip is a different matter with different legal obligations.
What we cannot claim
We cannot say a trip is safe, fast, or reliable. We do not check identities, driving licences, vehicle registration or insurance, and there is not yet a way to report or block another member from inside the app. When any of that is added, we will describe precisely what is checked and what is not.
